Watercolour Classes in Person
Small groups. Personal guidance. Real progress.
Alongside my studio work and exhibitions, I teach a limited number of in-person watercolour classes near my home in Fetcham, Surrey. These sessions are relaxed, friendly and deliberately small, giving every student the space — and the personal attention — to genuinely develop their technique.
Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or you’ve been painting for years, I like to focus on how to approach watercolour: understanding the flow of water, building confidence with colour, learning when to be precise and when to let the paint breathe. Students often describe my classes as the moment things “finally clicked.”
What to expect
- Clear demonstrations, with each step explained in a practical, down-to-earth way
- Guidance tailored to your level — beginners are absolutely welcome
- A mix of structured exercises and full paintings
- Advice on materials, paper, colour choices and technique
- A warm, encouraging atmosphere (no judgement, no pressure)
Who these classes are for
Anyone who wants to improve — from absolute beginners to experienced painters stuck in a rut. I like to help students loosen up, see differently and trust the process instead of wrestling with the paint.
